He holds a PhD focused on Migration and Land Settlement and has extensive research experience examining cross-border mobility, migrant livelihoods, belonging, citizenship and the everyday experiences of migrants living and working on the margins of Southern African cities. He has published extensively on migration and related urban questions and has presented his research at numerous academic, policy and international migration forums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is currently based at the African Climate and Development Initiative, University of Cape Town. As an AIReKEMA Research Fellow, his project, The Border Beneath: Informal Mobility, Statelessness and Everyday Citizenship among Zimbabwean Migrants in South Africa, investigates how migrants use informal knowledge, social networks and everyday citizenship practices to navigate documentation uncertainty, statelessness risks and social exclusion.
