On Thursday, April 28, 2022<\/span>, Brandon Rigato<\/a> gave a Witness statement for the House of Commons\u2019 Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security panel for the study of the Rise of Ideologically Motivated Violent Extremism (IMVE) in Canada<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rigato is a doctoral candidate (ABD) of Communication and Media Studies at the School of Journalism and Communication, an ALiGN researcher, and a lead research assistant of Populist Publics<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we can see the video, Rigato delivered the first statement. Using the case of Three Percenters to illustrate the emergence and development of an IMVE group and its usage of social media, Brandon Rigato provided a specific and detailed example while projecting more general understanding on the co-evolution of IMVEs and social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
