Based entirely on interviews with the participants and their friends, the film follows a group of exiles \u2013 transplants from Southwest reservations \u2013 as they flirt, drink, party, and dance.<\/p>\n<p>This film is presented in conjunction with the exhibition\u00a0<em>Raymond Boisjoly: Interlocutions<\/em>. Boisjoly is keenly interested MacKenzie\u2019s \u201cThe Exiles\u201d as an early representation of Indigenous youth culture and has been inspired by the film in producing his projects\u00a0<em>(And) Other Echoes<\/em>\u00a0(2013) and\u00a0<em>Station to Station<\/em>\u00a0(2014).<\/p>\n<p>The screening will be preceded by rare and memorable selections from the Audio-Visual Resource Centre\u2019s collection of 16 mm films, curated by Devin Hartley, which will be inspired by the themes of 1960s youth culture, representations of Indigeneity, and diaspora.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is free and everyone
