\n Major and Minor Modifications\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

Any changes to the academic calendar for courses or programs are submitted annually through Courseleaf. These changes are classified as either major<\/strong> or minor<\/strong>. The workflow designation of each modification constitutes how the curricular changes are approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major Modifications<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In accordance with Carleton\u2019s Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP)<\/a>, major modifications are classified into three categories: A1, A2<\/strong> and B<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A1 Major modifications<\/strong> require the development of an executive summary. The executive summary will be considered by the approval committees (VPARC, SCCASP, SQAPC and Senate), in parallel to the approvals by these committees through Courseleaf. These will require review and approval by Faculty Curriculum Committees and Faculty Board by November 30<\/strong> of the given academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A2 Major modifications<\/strong> require the development of an executive summary. Suspending Program Admissions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Suspending Program Admission is not considered a modification.  However, there is currently a framework<\/a> in place to guide the process and timelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
