Adjunct Professor H Masud Taj has been invited to address the 6th International Conference on Islamic Arts & Architecture 2018 organised by the Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics [FA+E] Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India. His plenary address is on November 12th 10:45-11:30 am at the Ansari Auditorium JMI.

In a conference devoted to the need for a “paradigm shift in Islamic architecture” Taj questions the appropriateness of such terminology. He does this through his close reading of a 13th century panel from Isfahan, revealing text concealed in the 700 year old artefact. The hidden text had remained unmentioned in the museum publication “Masterpieces from the Department of Islamic Art in The Metropolitan Museum of Art”.
