Undergraduate Summer Send-Off Party

On May 1, Azrieli School undergraduates celebrated end-of-term with a summer send-off party on Zoom.

The event kicked off with an “Everyone” meeting at 8 p.m., followed by smaller meetings, organized by year.

“We’ve been asked to rethink, reorganize, do things in new ways, and find good ways around difficult situations: precisely the things that architects do well,” Prof. Janine Debanné told the gathering.

In the Year Two meeting, Instructor Phuong-Trâm Nguyen read from Rebecca Solnit’s Hope in the Dark.

“Hope locates itself in the premises that we don’t know what will happen and that in the spaciousness of uncertainty is room to act.”

She also recalled John Giorno’s poem, Everyone gets lighter, (https://youtu.be/lQulErRiMTY).

It contains the line: “It’s not what happens, it’s how you handle it.”
