What is Imagine Architecture?

Imagine Architecture is a career exploratory studio for grade 10-12 students who are interested in design and who would like to gain experience in creative design thinking and making. Taught by instructors from Carleton’s Architecture program, these fun and intensive workshops will introduce students to the creative culture of design studio, which is at the core of the Architectural Studies curriculum.

Who is eligible to attend?

Students who have completed grade 10 – 12. There is no “application” process – receipt of your registration form and payment will guarantee your spot in the program.

How do I sign up?

Registration and payment is done online. The link to registration can be found at:

Is there a registration deadline?

We will accept registrations until all spots are taken. You are advised to register early to avoid any disappointments.

Can I register now and pay later?

Registration and payment have to be completed at the same time. If you enter your information but do not complete the payment process, you will have to redo the whole registration process again the next time you come back to pay. Your spot is not reserved until we receive payment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Any cancellations received before June 9, 2018 will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. There will be no refund after that date.

I have registered and paid. What is next?

You will receive an auto-response with a copy of your registration and receipt once we receive your registration and payment. This would be the official confirmation of your registration and it guarantees your spot in the program.

Two weeks before the start of the program, we will send you an email with further logistical details concerning the program.

What do I need to bring with me?

We will provide most of the materials required for this program. Any other materials required will be communicated to you in the welcome email package that will be sent at least two weeks before the start of the program.

Is lunch provided?

Yes, a daily lunch will be provided to participants at our university residence cafeteria. The Caf is a nut free “all-you-care-to-eat” facility with multiple food stations and can cater to most dietary needs. Please indicate any dietary restrictions on the registration form.

I live outside Ottawa. Is accommodation provided for the program?

Participants are responsible for securing their own accommodations during the program. Carleton University conference services offers summer accommodations to the general public during the summer months. The on-campus accommodations are about a 5min walk from the Architecture Building.

Please Note: All guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a guardian in order to stay in the on-campus accommodation.

Is parking available?

Visitor parking is available on campus. Some parking lots offer full day parking rates.
