Are you interested in applying to the Bachelor of Architectural Studies program at Carleton University? You may visit Carleton’s campus and our School by participating in one of the open houses listed below.
Saturday, October 19th, 2019 Carleton University Fall Open House

This open house is for applicants who are considering a range of programs at Carleton, including Architecture. Participants will hear a presentation about the three majors in the BAS program and about the portfolio requirements, meet students and tour the Architecture building.

This open house is for applicants interested in one (or more) of the three design disciplines offered through the Faculty of Engineering and Design, namely Architecture, Industrial Design and Interactive Multimedia & Design. Participants will hear a presentation about the three majors in the BAS program and about the portfolio requirements, meet students and tour the Architecture building.
Friday, November 15th, 2019 or Friday, January 31st 2020 BAS Open House – Architecture Building

This open house is for applicants specifically interested in the Architecture program at Carleton. Participants will experience a day in the life of our School while receiving information on the BAS and how to apply. As part of the “BAS Open House,” participants may also register for
partial campus tours (such as tours of the residences). Select these while you register, at the link below.
At the BAS Open House, you will:
• Hear a presentation about the three majors in the BAS program and about the portfolio requirements.
• Participate in a drawing exercise and a review session.
• Meet members of the faculty.
• Observe a studio class and see examples of studio work.
• Have a tour of the school and meet current students.
• Be able to show images that you are working on for brief feedback
• Participate in scheduled tours of your choice of Carleton’s campus (select these while you register).
8:30 -9:00 Check-in: Main Foyer Architecture Building
9:00 -9:45 Presentation: Room 204 Architecture Building
10:00 -Noon Drawing Exercise and Review: Architecture Building 4th floor Noon -1:15 Lunch
1:30 -2:30 Observe Studio classes: Architecture Building 4th floor
2:30 -4:30 Open (remain in the Architecture Building to observe studio classes and meet students, or participate in a campus tour departing at 2:30 or 3:30)
Please note: limit 20 students for each of the BAS Open Houses
OPTION 2: visit us in the GTA
You can’t make it to Ottawa? If you are from the GTA, you may attend an information session and speak to representatives from our BAS program at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga on November 18th, as part of “Explore Carleton Engineering and Design.”

Summer programs for Prospective students
Imagine Architecture High School summer program
Imagine Architecture is a career exploratory program for grades 10-12 students wanting to build skills in creative design thinking, as well as, explore the artistic culture of design studio, which is at the core of any Architectural Studies curriculum. STUDIO FIRST, the first program of its kind in Canada – is an intensive immersion studio for participants with no formal academic background in architecture. The main goal of the program is to allow participants the opportunity to generate portfolio material appropriate for application to the three year Master of Architecture accredited degree.
