My name is Uche Peace Obodo, and I have recently been admitted as an MASc student in Civil Engineering (Pavement Engineering) at Carleton University, under the supervision of Professor Kamal Hossain. I hold an MSc in Civil Engineering (Highway and Traffic Engineering) from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and a BEng in Civil Engineering from the University of Benin, Nigeria. My MSc thesis, published under the name Ujor Peace U., examined polymer modification of Nigerian tar sand using recycled LDPE to improve local bitumen performance. I later worked as a civil engineer on pavement materials quality control and pavement construction in Nigeria, and most recently served as a Lecturer II in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun, teaching engineering geology and civil engineering materials. I am a COREN-registered professional engineer. My research at ARTEL extends my earlier work on polymer modification towards predictive pavement management, applying statistical modelling and machine learning to forecast asphalt binder and pavement performance with greater precision.<\/p>\n
