Dr. Ata Khan is an expert on sustainable and intelligent transportation systems and the director of the Transportation Research Centre, housed in the department of civil and environmental engineering at Carleton University. Recently, he co-led a national team that used \u201csmart\u201d technology to simulate the driving experience in cars in order to research safer and more efficient transportation. Follow up studies are planned on \u2018intelligent driving\u2019 involving cars and transit for enhancing safety, efficiency and reducing environmental impacts.<\/p>\n
