The 2017/2018 Full-Time OSAP Application is now available at ontario.ca/osap.
What is OSAP?
The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a government financial aid program that provides Ontario students with financial assistance to help pay for college or university. Through one application, you will be considered for non-repayable grants, as well as an OSAP loan.
Grants = money that you will not have to repay
Loan = borrowed money that you will have to repay. Your loan through OSAP is interest and payment-free while you are in school full-time.
How much can I get?
OSAP funding is calculated by comparing your educational costs and your personal financial situation.
For a typical two-term academic year, full-time single students will be eligible for up to $13,260 in loans and non-repayable grants, while married students and sole support parents can get up to $22,440.
Changes to OSAP for 2017/2018
For 2017/2018, OSAP has consolidated a number of back-end grants and tax credits. This includes the 30% Off Ontario Tuition Grant. Now, all of your grant funding through OSAP is provided up-front through a single grant. This will help you better understand your OSAP funding and the cost of your education.
