In section two of the OSAP application, you need to estimate the total value of any scholarships, bursaries and/or awards you expect to receive for your study period. When reporting award income, you can follow this simple rule: unless you have been advised otherwise (see the Carleton Bursaries below), you should report all awards you expect to receive your application.
Reporting Award Income
Use the following table for reference when reporting award income on your OSAP application.
|Type||Reported on OSAP application||Notes:|
|Carleton Scholarships||Yes||You should report the amounts for all merit-based awards (i.e. Scholarships) you have been offered by Carleton University.|
|Carleton Bursaries||No||If you have been offered a Carleton Bursary, you are not required to report it as award income on your OSAP application as the Awards Office will report it to OSAP for you. This is outlined in a letter sent to all students who have been awarded a Carleton Bursary.|
|External Awards||Yes||External awards are scholarships, bursaries or grants that are administered by an external agency (not Carleton). You should report the amounts for any external awards you expect to receive for your study period.|
If you reported a Carleton Bursary
If you mistakenly reported your Carleton Bursary as award income on your OSAP application, you can ask to have it removed by emailing your request to email@example.com. Don’t forget to include your student number with your message.
