It’s June and it’s a great time to apply for Full-Time OSAP for the Fall/Winter 2019-20 Session if you have not done so already. OSAP applications can take six weeks to process so don’t leave it to the last minute!

June 30 is the recommended date to submit your online OSAP application and all required supporting documents to best ensure you receive your funds at the beginning of the fall term.

We also recommend reviewing the full list of 2019-20 OSAP dates and deadlines.

Apply online at

All students who wish to receive OSAP for the upcoming academic year must submit a new application online. This means that if you are a returning student and received OSAP in previous years you must re-apply every year. For new students, you must first register as a new user on the OSAP website and then submit your online application.

Don’t forget to review your application for accuracy before submitting!

After you apply

Here is what you will need to do after you submit your application.

Upload your documents

Before your funding can be calculated and/or released, you may have to provide supporting documents. The Required Documents page of your OSAP account will list what you need to submit.

Uploading your documents to your application is the easiest way to submit them. See our upload instructions, which outline how you can use your phone to scan them into PDFs.

Complete your MSFAA

If it’s your first time applying for OSAP, you will have to complete a Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement (MSFAA). The MSFAA is your lifetime student loan and grant agreement. It contains the terms and conditions you must agree to in order to receive your OSAP funding.

For 2019-20 you will be able to sign your MSFAA online through the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) website. The NSLSC will email you instructions shortly after you submit your OSAP application.

Monitor your application

Once you have applied and submitted all supporting documentation, it’s important to keep a close eye on your application. Check your OSAP Message Centre and Carleton email account often for important messages.
