Bursaries for Students on Exchange/International Experience

Bursaries are available for students who require financial assistance to meet their educational costs. It is expected that students applying for bursary assistance will be applying for funds through a government sponsored student assistance program (OSAP or your province of residence).

Carleton University Students on Exchange:

  • You must have demonstrated financial need and will be applying for government student financial assistance.
  • You complete and submit the CU Exchange / International Experience Bursary application, through the Undergraduate Application Forms system on Carleton Central, by June 30th.
  • Students who have not applied by the application deadline may still be considered for a bursary by completing the General Undergraduate Bursary application for Current Students.  The General Undergraduate Bursary application for Current Students is available as of September, through the Undergraduate Application Forms system on Carleton Central.

Bachelor of Global and International Studies (BGInS):

BGInS students undertaking their mandatory International Experience Requirement (IER) are eligible to apply to the CU Exchange/International Experience Bursary for financial assistance towards their IER costs.

  • You complete and submit the CU Exchange / International Experience Bursary application, through the Undergraduate Application Forms system on Carleton Central, by June 30th.
  • You will have access to the CU Exchange / International Experience Bursary application from February 1 to June 30th.
  • If you think you should be able to access the form, but are not able to do so, please contact the BGInS International Experience Manager.
  • Students who did not apply by the application deadline may still be considered for a bursary by completing the General Undergraduate Bursary application for Current Students.  The General Undergraduate Bursary application for Current Students is available as of September, through the Undergraduate Application Forms system on Carleton Central.
