{"id":1985,"date":"2024-07-02T12:08:02","date_gmt":"2024-07-02T16:08:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/barrylab\/?post_type=cu-people&#038;p=1985"},"modified":"2025-12-23T10:17:25","modified_gmt":"2025-12-23T15:17:25","slug":"1985","status":"publish","type":"cu-people","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/barrylab\/people\/1985\/","title":{"rendered":"Somayeh Norouziyan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Somayeh &#8220;<strong>TBD<\/strong>&#8221; Norouziyan (PDRA, she\/her) joined the #BarryLab in July 2024.\u00a0Currently, she is working with <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/barrylab\/people\/lam-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lam Research<\/a> on transition metal precursor chemistry for area-selective ALD.<\/p>\n<p>She was a <a href=\"https:\/\/innovation.mitacs.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mitacs PDF<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uottawa.ca\/faculty-science\/chemistry-biomolecular-sciences\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Ottawa<\/a> (January 2024 to June 2024), researching new physical and chemical amine-based adsorbents for CO<sub>2<\/sub> adsorption under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uottawa.ca\/faculty-science\/professors\/abdelhamid-sayari\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professor Abdel Sayari<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During her PhD under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/mysite.science.uottawa.ca\/darrin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professor Darrin Richeson<\/a>, she explored 3D organometallic complexes for various catalytic purposes, including H<sub>2<\/sub> generation, CO<sub>2<\/sub> reduction, and nitrite reduction.<\/p>\n<p>She completed her Master&#8217;s degree at the <a href=\"https:\/\/ut.ac.ir\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Tehran<\/a>, Iran, focusing on polymeric-based membranes.<\/p>\n<p>Somayeh has extensive experience in inorganic, organic, and polymer synthesis, electrocatalysis, membrane technology, and material characterization.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","meta":{"_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"people-type":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.2 -
