{"id":2047,"date":"2025-04-06T19:57:09","date_gmt":"2025-04-06T23:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/barrylab\/?post_type=cu-people&#038;p=2047"},"modified":"2025-07-27T11:42:34","modified_gmt":"2025-07-27T15:42:34","slug":"josh-brown","status":"publish","type":"cu-people","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/barrylab\/people\/josh-brown\/","title":{"rendered":"Josh Brown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Josh &#8220;<strong>Downtown<\/strong>&#8221; Brown (PDRA, he\/him) joined the lab in April 2025 to work with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.src.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SRC<\/a> (and <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/barrylab\/people\/juliana-dimova\/\">Dex<\/a>) to design ALD precursor molecules of group 3 metals.<\/p>\n<p>Josh completed his PhD in Chemistry in 2024 under the supervision of <a href=\"https:\/\/mysite.science.uottawa.ca\/darrin\/?_gl=1*1heztqw*_gcl_au*MTY4NzQ4MDI2OC4xNzQzNTkzNTg5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professor Darrin Richeson at the University of Ottawa<\/a>. There, he focused on advancing homogeneous electrocatalytic mechanisms for <a href=\"https:\/\/chemistry-europe.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/cssc.202102542\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hydrogen production from inorganic complexes<\/a> in\u00a0a variety of metal-ligand combinations.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his PhD, Josh earned his undergraduate degree at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uottawa.ca\/faculty-science\/chemistry-biomolecular-sciences\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Ottawa<\/a>, where he developed a strong foundation in inorganic chemistry and materials science.<\/p>\n<p>With expertise in electrocatalysis, inorganic and organic synthesis, and an array of characterization techniques, Josh is passionate about using his skills to drive innovation in the cleantech industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","meta":{"_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","_mi_skip_tracking":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_active":false,"_exactmetrics_sitenote_note":"","_exactmetrics_sitenote_category":0,"_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"people-type":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.2 -
