Courses in international law, global governance, and political economy gave him a strong analytical foundation, while the program’s flexibility allowed him to connect classroom theory to the fast-moving world of Canadian politics.

Aryan began his work on Parliament Hill as a volunteer in the Office of Ron McKinnon, where he was first introduced to the daily realities of legislative research, constituent engagement, and parliamentary operations. He later joined the campaign team of Fares Al Soud, contributing to the successful election of one of the youngest sitting Members of Parliament in Canada and one of the country’s first MPs born in the 2000s. Working on a historic and generationally significant campaign deepened his understanding of political mobilization, voter engagement, and the evolving landscape of Canadian leadership. Following the campaign, Aryan transitioned back to the Office of MP Ron McKinnon, where he worked as a Legislative Assistant until May 2026. Currently, he is the Chief of Staff to MP Marilyn Gladu. In this role, he conducts legislative research, drafts speeches and official correspondence, supports strategic communications, and works directly with constituents, gaining firsthand insight into how global issues translate into domestic policy decisions, all while running the Ottawa office of the MP.

Aryan credits BGInS with helping him think critically about power, justice, and accountability across borders. The program strengthened his ability to analyze complex international challenges while remaining attentive to their legal and social dimensions. Whether examining international conflict, trade governance, or human rights frameworks, he developed the habit of asking not only what institutions do, but why they operate the way they do.

Outside of his academic and political commitments, Aryan is an avid photographer. Whether capturing moments on the campaign trail, documenting life on Parliament Hill, or exploring cityscapes and travel, photography has become both a creative outlet and a way of observing the world more closely. He credits this hobby with sharpening his attention to detail and perspective skills that translate directly into his academic work and public service.Reflecting on his BGInS journey, Aryan encourages students to take advantage of every opportunity to connect academic learning with practical experience. “The program teaches you how to think globally, but it’s up to you to step into the spaces where those ideas matter.

For Aryan, studying the BGInS program was never just about understanding global systems, it was about learning how to operate within them.
