Endophytes are important but poorly studied components of ecosystems. This work represents the first reports of natural products from the endophyte studied. This research was part of a larger project in the groups of Profs. David McMullin and David Miller (Institute of Biochemistry). The characterization of endophyte communities has the potential to identify new sustainable management strategies to control forest pests and pathogens.

Read the research here (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11557-023-01869-6).
For more information on Prof. McMullin’s research, visit his Natural Products Chemistry Research Group at https://carleton.ca/mcmullinlab/

Publication alert: Natural products from a foliar conifer endophyte Jordan Di Stefano (B.Sc.
