This plant is currently considered to be a potential industrial crop for the production of natural rubber (polyisoprene) and latex rubber. We are generating proteome maps of latex-associated proteins to do comparative studies between the rubber producing Russian dandelion and the common dandelion, Taraxacum officinale.
