GRADUATE SEMINAR SERIES #1 – MON NOV 14 @ 1pm IN NESBITT 206<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Come get TA Training Hour credit and learn about research happening in your department and at nearby universities!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 The first of six graduate student seminars will be held on Monday, 14 November at 1-2.30pm in NB 206. Our speakers include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 1)      Anneli Jokela <\/strong>(Queen\u2019s) \u2013 \u201cInfluence of the exotic predatory cladoceran <\/em>Bythotrephes longimanus on the vertical distribution of zooplankton prey\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 2)      Danielle Fraser <\/strong>(Carleton) \u2013 \u201cThe effects of climate change on Miocene hoofed mammals\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 3)      Monica Granados <\/strong>(McGill) \u2013 \u201cOn the consequences of the propagation of omnivory<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 4)      Zoe Panchen <\/strong>(Carleton) \u2013 \u201cEarly bloomers in a changing climate: Flowering response of plants to long term climate change\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 5)      Brian Campbell <\/strong>(Queen\u2019s) \u2013 \u201cOccupancy-based Modeling of Avian Species Distributions and Community Diversity Along a Tropical Forest Land-cover Gradient\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  We’ll be having additional GSS dates every month until April – feel free to contact me (whughes@connect.carleton.ca<\/a>) if you’re interested in contributing in the future! Remember that in order to get TA training credit you’ll need to sign up online through the TA Management System (look for “GSS #1”).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
