CUAG won an award for Annie Thibault’s La chambre des cultures, foraging in time and space<\/p>\n

The 2018 Ontario Association of Art Galleries Awards ceremony took place in Toronto on Monday 19 November 2018, where CUAG and Annie Thibault were thrilled received the award.<\/p>\n

The \u201cExhibition of the Year (budget under $20,000, monographic)\u201d<\/strong> award was given to the\u00a0exhibition Annie Thibault: La chambre des cultures, foraging in time and space,\u00a0<\/em>curated by Heather Anderson and presented at CUAG in fall 2017.<\/p>\n

This was CUAG\u2019s first time to embed an artist in a science department at Carleton. Curator Heather Anderson proposed a yearlong residency for Annie Thibault to Dr. Myron Smith, an internationally renowned mycologist. He enthusiastically agreed.<\/p>\n

Thibault activated the gallery as a hybrid laboratory, studio and curiosity cabinet, presenting the results of her year-long experiments in Carleton University’s biology labs.<\/p>\n
