On Friday, September 6th 2019, Carleton University’s Professor Michael Runtz was interviewed by CBC Ottawa Morning host Robin Bresnahan to talk about the ‘drunk’ racoons stumbling around Stittsville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The residentsof Stittsville have been spotting inebriated racoons stumbling around town and seemingly sleeping off their hangovers. Professor Runtz suggests that the animals are not having wild drunken parties but instead are possibly eating fermented fruits, such as apples, causing their inebriated state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the interview Professor Runtz advisespeople “Don’t try to give them coffee and get them sobered up, just let them go their course. If you’re really concerned about the animal, call … some of the animal control officers to come have a look at it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
