This includes studying time-dependent, nonlinear, and anisotropic responses common in polymers, composites, and biological tissues. The centre combines interdisciplinary experts in materials characterization, synthetic biology, and mechanical testing. The overarching goal is to use expertise in engineering to solve biological problems in health and disease. By integrating advanced polymer science, smart materials, and high-resolution additive manufacturing, our research aims to create devices that adapt to individual needs\u2014enhancing comfort, functionality, and user autonomy. These innovations are designed with inclusivity in mind, targeting underserved populations and are developed in close collaboration with clinicians to ensure translational impact and improved health outcomes.
