It humbled me and grounded my belief&nbsp;in opportunity and helping others see&nbsp;what comes next. That perspective has stayed with me, and it continues to guide how I strive to lead with a commitment to paying it forward. That is why Carleton University\u2019s mission truly matters to me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Johanna is excited to serve as a member of the Board of Governor and to support Carleton University\u2019s commitment to operational excellence, effective&nbsp;governance and delivering public value that reflects the needs of the communities it serves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her interest in education is personally meaningful. Growing up in a family dedicated to teaching influenced her belief that education is more than credentials, it is about access, dignity and helping people through change. That perspective continues to guide how she approaches governance, with&nbsp;sound judgement, fairness and a commitment to ensuring&nbsp;systems work effectively&nbsp;for the people who depend&nbsp;on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Johanna currently leads the Internal Audit function at the Canadian Red Cross, where she supports accountability, resilience and continuous improvement across a national organization. Her work focuses on supporting leadership during change, improving how decisions are made and helping the organization remain steady and accountable in complex and uncertain environments. Previously, she held various roles at the Toronto Transit Commission, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and Scotiabank, working across audit, risk and compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Johanna believes in a collaborative and thoughtful approach to leadership and governance. She values listening and asking the right questions to help organizations stay focused on what truly matters.
