Molly graduated from the Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Ma<\/em><em>nageme<\/em><em>nt with High Distinction in March 2021. Molly specialized in<\/em><em> International Policy Studies: International Relations and Conflict.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xxmsonormal\"><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">What led you to cho<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">ose a degree in BPAPM?: <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">I chose a degree in BPAPM out of an interest in International Affairs and&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">a desire to explore that field with a specialized degree. I also selected the program on the basis of its location in Ottawa in order to take advant<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">age <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">of professors with concrete, real-world experience in International Affairs and the possibility of finding work in my field during and after my degree.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xxmsonormal\"><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">What were the highlights of your experience? <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">The highlights of my experience were absolutely the conversations <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">I had in cla<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">ss surrounding current events and the applicability of class material to those events. I also really enjoyed making connections with students from different cultural and epistemological backgrounds that helped to introduce new perspectives into those discussions.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xxmsonormal\"><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">What did you learn that you found most important? <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Probably the most important skills that I learned in this program were related to engaging critically with academic sources and discussions. Learning how <\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">to distinguish legitimate and well-researched sources is crucial to<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">&nbsp;remaining well-informed in any setting, not just academic.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xxmsonormal\"><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">What advice would you give to students who are thinking about joining the BPAPM program? <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">I would suggest that new&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">students enter with an open mind, particularly when it comes to specializing at the end of first year, and also be prepared to lean on each other for help.
