For most pathways, graduate completed in your 4th year can count for both the BPAPM and your graduate degree. For the Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) degree, students in the Public Policy and Administration (PPA) specialization can pursue a similar pathway with graduate Public Administration (PADM) courses, and all BPAPM students are eligible for advanced standing as part of the Advanced Completion Option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>*<\/strong><em>Please note that participation in a graduate pathway does not guarantee your admission into the graduate program, but if you are admitted, your advanced standing will reduce your credit load in graduate studies and may shorten your time to completion.&nbsp;If you are interested, please consult both with your undergraduate advisor and the supervisor of the program you are interested in, ideally before you commence your third year of studies.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 id=\"what-programs-have-an-accelerated-pathway-that-is-open-to-me\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">What programs have an accelerated pathway that is open to me?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Programs offered by&nbsp;the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/politicalmanagement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Clayton H. Students commencing their third-year of study in the undergraduate program should consult with both their academic supervisor and the political management program supervisor to determine if the accelerated pathway is appropriate for them and to confirm their selection of courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible students must complete POLM 3000, PSCI 3410 or COMS 3100. Students may receive advanced standing with transfer of credit of up to 1.0 credit in POLM courses at the 5000-level completed in their fourth year of studies, with grade of B+ or higher. All BPAPM students, regardless of specialization, are eligible for the first element of the pathway. In addition, a second element is available for students in the PPA specialization which means your graduate degree may be completed by 4.0 further credits, representing two terms of full-time study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. For all BPAPM students interested in the Master of Public Policy and Administration there is an \u2018Advanced Completion Option\u2019 open to students in any specialization. This option allows you to shorten the Master of Public Policy and Administration degree by receiving advanced standing with a transfer of credit for up to 4 core courses (2.0 credits).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. This pathway to the Master of Arts International Affairs will be of particular interest to BPAPM students in the International Policy Studies specialization, although students in other BPAPM specializations such as Development Policy Studies are also eligible to be considered. Please consult with your undergraduate advisor and the supervisor of the program in the Norman Patterson School of International Affairs before commencing your third year of studies for details. Students in their third-year of study should consult with their Undergraduate Advisor and the Graduate Advisor in EURUS to confirm their selection of courses for their final year of undergraduate studies when they complete at least 1.0 credit in EURUS courses (5000 level or higher).
