Alex is testing the thermal performance of Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIPs) and the environmental conditions that lead to their possible decrease in insulating value over time. The construction industry is weary of installing VIPs into new construction without understanding how long the product will maintain its thermal performance over time and as such Alex is looking at ways to use the ageing mechanisms determined to develop and test a method of accelerated ageing for the panels.
