The Self <\/span><\/span>assessment <\/span><\/span>tool can <\/span><\/span>help<\/span><\/span> students evaluate <\/span><\/span>their<\/span><\/span> contributions<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and performance for individual or group work. <\/span><\/span>Self-assessments can encourage <\/span><\/span>student involvement and responsibility<\/span><\/span>, as well as provide an opportunity for<\/span><\/span>\u00a0reflection.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Self <\/span><\/span>assessments<\/span><\/span>\u00a0are often phrased using\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u201cI\u201d statements\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and you can include\u00a0<\/span><\/span>hints\u00a0<\/span><\/span>for students\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to clarify<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the meaning of individual questions or statements.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

NOTE: <\/strong>Self-assessments in Brightspace cannot be evaluated or tracked. They are meant to provide students with in-the-moment feedback or hints as they are going through the assessment. The answers that a student chooses on a self assessment are not visible to either the student or the instructor once the assessment is completed.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
