The S<\/span>how<\/span>\/H<\/span>ide\u00a0<\/span>option\u00a0<\/span>for<\/span>\u00a0Grade Item<\/span>s<\/span>\u00a0a<\/span>llows you to<\/span>\u00a0bulk<\/span>\u00a0release<\/span> the grades<\/span> for<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>an course assessment,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>such as<\/span>\u00a0an<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>assignment or quiz<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>You may wish to hide the grades<\/span>\u00a0until you\u00a0<\/span>or your TAs\u00a0<\/span>have completed marking<\/span>. When<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>you\u2019re<\/span>\u00a0ready to release them<\/span>, you\u2019ll\u00a0<\/span>need to make the grades for that<\/span> i<\/span>tem visible to students. There are two ways of showing\/hiding grades in D2L Brightspace, which are outlined in the instructions below.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
NOTE: If you are hiding a grade item that is associated with an online activity in Brightspace (e.g. Assignment, Quiz, Discussion), the grade will still be visible to students if you have published grades within the activity<\/strong>. Students can access the grades for a hidden grade item if they navigate to the activity itself. To hide grades within an activity, you will need to hide the activity (assignment, quiz, etc.) from students, or save the grades as a draft until you are ready to publish.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

How can I tell if a grade item is hidden from students?<\/strong>

NOTE: If a grade item belongs to a grade category, you will also need to hide the respective category. If the grade category is not hidden, the category subtotal will still be visible to students. <\/span><\/strong>The instructions below are for hiding grade items within the gradebook.
