Microsoft Teams is Carleton\u2019s administrative web and video conferencing tool, supported by ITS Service Desk. Microsoft Teams is available to all faculty, staff, and students under Carleton’s Microsoft License Agreement. For more information about Teams at Carleton, visit the associated ITS support page. On the support site, you can also request a Team site: https:\/\/carleton.ca\/its\/teams\/<\/a>.\u00a0 For additional questions about the use of setup of Teams, please contact: its.service.desk@carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\n

Teams can also be used inside of D2L Brightspace. A class “Team” can be created for learners and instructors via the addition of the Teams widget on the Brightspace course homepage<\/a>. To find out if Teams makes sense for your class, or to explore the use of Teams in Brightspace, please submit a request to the TLS Support Team: tlssupport.carleton.ca.<\/a><\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> While the TLS Support Team does provide basic support to add Teams to Brightspace courses and can answer some basic questions, TLS does not provide training, document, support or troubleshooting for Teams in Brightspace. While Teams can be used as a virtual classroom tool, this web conferencing tool is better suited for small group meetings and one-on-one interactions with students. Teams sites may also be appropriate for collaborative document sharing and editing. Zoom, however, is the recommended tool for teaching classes synchronously.<\/p>\n

Using Teams (Inside of Brightspace)<\/h2>\n

Access Microsoft (MS) Teams in Brightspace by adding the MS Teams widget to your course homepage. Adding the MS Teams widget will automatically add the members of the classlist to the MS Teams site and an MS Teams folder will be created for the course. The MS Teams folder can be accessed either from within Brightspace, by selecting the MS Team link in the widget or by logging in to Teams directly. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Using MS Teams, students can work collaboratively\u00a0on shared documents both synchronously and asynchronously.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
