D2L Brightspace allows you to send emails from within the Brightspace interface. The emails will be sent from the email address associated with accessing your Brightspace account. Brightspace emails can only be received and accessed through Carleton Outlook email via the MyCarleton Portal.<\/a> There is no email inbox within Brightspace itself. Carleton delivers email for faculty, students, and staff using the Microsoft Office 365 suite.<\/p>\n

To send an email in Brightspace<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Log in to Brightspace<\/a> with your MyCarletonOne<\/em> credentials.<\/li>\n
  2. Click the\u00a0Messages\u00a0<\/strong>logo in the tool bar.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \"\"<\/li>\n
  3.   4. Enter the name of the intended recipients in the field labelled\u00a0To.

    NOTE: <\/strong>Brightspace will attempt to look up relevant emails as you type. You are still able to send your email if the address is not found in the registry.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/li>\n
  5. Compose the email message in the box labelled\u00a0Body.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Select your message priority label in the box labelled\u00a0Priority\u00a0<\/strong>in the bottom right of the page.\"\"<\/li>\n
  7. Click\u00a0Send. <\/strong><\/li>\n
  8. Your email has been sent.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    To check your email in Brightspace<\/h2>\n

    There is no email inbox within Brightspace. However, you can use the Brightspace interface to open your Carleton email inbox in an Outlook Web application.<\/p>\n

    To check your email:<\/p>\n

    1. Log in to Brightspace<\/a> with your MyCarletonOne<\/em> credentials.<\/li>\n
    2.       NOTE: <\/strong>The Jump To<\/strong> button is always present on this banner menu, however it’s position on this banner menu may change slightly depending on your location in the Brightspace interface. if you are in a course page, the Jump to<\/strong> button will be moved to the right side of the banner menu.
