We recommend clearing your cache if you are experiencing issues accessing or uploading content in D2L Brightspace. When you use a browser, like Chrome or Safari, it stores information in its cache and cookies. Clearing the cache can help with certain browser issues, such as loading or accessing content, formatting, or login issues on sites.<\/p>\n

Choose your Browser<\/h2>\n

Latest versions of the following browsers are supported for Brightspace:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

  1. Google Chrome<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Mozilla Firefox<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n
  3. Microsoft Edge<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n
  4. Safari (Supports D2L Drag and Drop)<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n\n

    <\/a>Google Chrome<\/h2>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    1. On your computer, open Chrome.<\/li>\n
    2. At the top right, click More (three vertical dots) .<\/li>\n
    3. Select More Tools <\/strong>from the drop-down menu.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \"\"<\/li>\n
    4. Select Clear Browsing Data\u2026<\/strong> from the drop-down menu. A new window will open.\"\"<\/li>\n
    5. At the top, click on the drop-down menu to choose a time range. To delete the entire history and cache, select All time<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    6. Check the boxes for \u201cCookies and other site data\u201d and \u201cCached images and files\u201d.<\/li>\n
    7. Click Clear data<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      You have now cleared your Chrome browser cache.<\/em><\/p>\n

      1. On your computer, open Mozilla Firefox.<\/li>\n
      2. Click the Library<\/strong> button<\/strong> \"\"on your toolbar. If you do not see it there, click the menu button<\/strong> \"\", then click Library<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      3. Select History <\/strong>from the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n
      4. Select Clear Recent History\u2026\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong>\"\"<\/li>\n
      5. At the top, click the drop-down menu next to \u201cTime range to clear<\/em>\u201d to select how much of your Firefox history to clear. To delete the entire history and cache, select Everything<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      6. Click the checkboxes next to \u201cCache\u201d. For more information on what each of these options includes see: What is included in my history? <\/a><\/li>\n
      7. Click OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        You have now cleared your Mozilla Firefox browser cache.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

      Automatically clear the cache<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      With Mozilla Firefox you can set up your computer to automatically clear the cache everytime Firefox closes.<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. On your computer, open Mozilla Firefox.<\/li>\n
      2. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      3. Select Preferences<\/strong> from the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n
      4. Select the Privacy and Security.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \"\"<\/strong><\/li>\n
      5. Scroll down to the \u201cHistory\u201d section. In the drop-down menu next to Firefox, choose Use custom settings for history.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \"\"<\/strong><\/li>\n
      6. Check the box next to \u201cClear history when Firefox closes\u201d.\"\"<\/li>\n
      7. To specify what types of history should be cleared, click the\u00a0Settings\u2026<\/strong>button next to\u00a0\u201cClear history when Firefox closes\u201d. To delete the entire history and cache, select Everything<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      8. In the Settings for Clearing History<\/strong>, check the items that you want to have cleared automatically each time you quit Firefox.<\/li>\n
      9. After selecting the history to be cleared, click\u00a0OK<\/strong>\u00a0to close the\u00a0Settings for Clearing History<\/strong>\u00a0pop-up.<\/li>\n
      10. Close the about:preferences page. Any changes you have made will automatically be saved.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        You have now set your Mozilla Firefox browser to clear the cache automatically when Firefox closes.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

        <\/a>Microsoft Edge<\/h2>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

        1. On your computer, open Microsoft Edge.<\/li>\n
        2. At the top right, click Select Settings and more<\/strong> \"\"(three horizontal dots).<\/li>\n
        3. Select Settings<\/strong> from the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n
        4. Under the Settings <\/strong>sidebar, select\u00a0Privacy, Search and Services<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \"\"<\/li>\n
        5. To the right of \u201cClear browsing data now\u201d, select Choose What to Clear.\"\"<\/strong><\/li>\n
        6. From the\u00a0Time range <\/strong>list, select how far back Microsoft Edge should empty the cache. To empty the entire cache, select All Time<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        7. In\u00a0Clear browsing data<\/strong>, select the check box for \u201cCookies and other site data\u201d and \u201cCached images and files\u201d. You can select any of the other options as well that you want to clear.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\"\"<\/li>\n
        8. Click\u00a0Clear now<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          You have now cleared your Microsoft Edge browser cache.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

        Automatically clear the cache<\/strong><\/h3>\n

        With Microsoft Edge you can set up your computer to automatically clear the cache everytime Microsoft Edge closes.<\/p>\n

        1. On your computer, open Microsoft Edge.<\/li>\n
        2. At the top right click Select Settings and more (three horizontal dots).<\/li>\n
        3. Select Settings<\/strong> from the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n
        4. Under the\u00a0Settings <\/strong>sidebar, select\u00a0Privacy and Services<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\"\"<\/li>\n
        5. Under\u00a0\u201cClear browsing data\u201d<\/strong>, select\u00a0Choose what to clear every time you close the browser<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
        6. In\u00a0\u201cClear browsing data on close\u201d<\/strong>,<\/strong> select the option beside each cache you want to clear when you close a browser window.<\/li>\n
        7. Close the\u00a0Settings<\/strong>\u00a0tab in Microsoft Edge. Your changes will be saved automatically.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          You have now set your Microsoft Edge browser to clear the cache automatically when Microsoft Edge closes.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

          1. On your Mac computer, open Safari.<\/li>\n
          2. At the top left of the screen, click Safari<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
          3.           5. Click the box next to \u201cShow Develop menu in menu bar\u201d.\"\"<\/li>\n
          6. The Develop menu has now been enabled. From the menu bar at the top, click Develop<\/strong>.\"\"<\/li>\n

            You have now cleared your Safari browser cache.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

          Clear cache, cookies and history<\/h3>\n

          With Safari you can also choose to clear your cache, cookies, and history. This will clear everything where as the instructions above will only clear your cache.<\/p>\n

          <\/p>\n

          1. On your Mac computer, open Safari.<\/li>\n
          2. At the top left of the screen, click Safari<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

          4. In the pop-up window, select a time frame for how far back to erase. To clear the entire cache, select all history<\/strong>.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
