In accordance with the University\u2019s data retention policy, which dictates that courses are maintained on the system for a maximum of five years, all courses migrated from cuLearn to Brightspace will be permanently deleted in May 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n To prevent unexpected loss of access, all users were unenrolled from these migrated shells in the Summer of 2025. This was a proactive step to signal which courses are nearing the end of their retention cycle.<\/p>\n Our strongest recommendation is for instructors to create their own backup copies of any legacy materials they wish to keep for long-term reference.<\/p>\n Moving forward, Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) is implementing an improved communication workflow.
