Myles joined CABER in Summer 2023, beginning work on research for his M.A.Sc. under supervision of Dr. Cynthia Cruickshank. He graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.<\/p>\n
His master’s research included using EnergyPlus and Delphin to create calibrated energy and hygrothermal models of a recent deep energy retrofit pilot in Ottawa. He then simulated the calibrated models against extreme weather scenarios for future climate projections, to assess the resilience of the design.<\/p>\n
Moving forward, his PhD. research will include hygrothermal testing and modeling of a novel prefabricated wall design for the Canadian housing market.
