Melanie joined CABER in the fall of 2025, bringing with her more than eight years of valuable experience in the home development industry. Her career spans diverse roles, including architecture, procurement, and sustainable development, which have given her a broad and practical perspective on the field. Throughout her career, Melanie has consistently emphasized the creation of construction solutions that are affordable, buildable, and sustainable. Her approach integrates cost-effectiveness with practical design and environmental responsibility. Melanie earned her Bachelor of Building Science from Algonquin College in 2021. Her academic training provides a strong foundation for her contributions to CABER and supports her commitment to innovative building practices.<\/p>\n
Her research is centered on evaluating the feasibility of integrating high-performance wall systems into standard construction practices. She explores the use of biogenic insulation as a practical alternative to conventional methods, aiming to eliminate the need for polyethylene vapour barriers and improve building durability and sustainability. A key element of Melanie\u2019s research involves in-situ experimentation on real buildings.
