For potential PhD and M.Sc candidates interested in improving the efficiency and resiliency of building performance, by focusing on the relationship between a building\u2019s envelope and different forms of energy loss.is accepting students on a rolling basis.<\/p>\n
Current areas of research at the Centre for Advanced Building Envelope Research (CABER) includes,\u00a0New approaches to constructing envelopes, VIPs aging and integration of non traditional building materials, and Innovative high insulation materials and techniques. Research methods taken on by the CABER team members, provide a mechanism for the design and optimization of envelope components.<\/p>\n
The CABER lab has helped Dr. Cruickshank in developing collaborative relationships with researchers at other Canadian universities, to create a large network of researchers aiming to make existing buildings more efficient.<\/p>\n
The lab has a focus on experimental work as well as numerical modelling in terms of characterizing thermal processes in order to determine the technical and economic viability of innovative building envelope design.<\/p>\n
Our research team, led by Dr. Cynthia Cruickshank, consists of graduate students with degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering and Policy, and Environmental Engineering. Often, research assistants and undergraduate students are also involved in projects carried out at CABER.<\/p>\n
