Professional Collaboration<\/h2>\n

Involvement with Industry, Agencies and Academia<\/p>\n

The CABER team, in terms of their research, is open to
\n\"\"collaboration with industry partners, national organizations as well as other research teams. The importance of energy efficiency in terms of building performance creates unique opportunities for all parties involved in the Centre for Advanced Building Envelope Research\u2019s work. Areas of interest for our lab include constructing building envelopes that optimize the energy usage and flow of moisture in existing buildings, as well as impact of energy recovery ventilation on indoor conditions.<\/p>\n

Pathways of Collaboration:<\/h2>\n

NSERC Alliance Grants:<\/h3>\n

Alliance grants support projects of varying scale and complexity. Grants are applicable to both short term and long term projects involving several styles of collaboration. The purpose of this program is to support research projects led by strong, complementary, collaborative teams that will generate new knowledge and accelerate the application of research results to create benefits for Canada<\/p>\n

This pathway is ideal for projects involving both single partner organizations as well as a multitude of cross disciplinary partnerships wanting to get involved in the same project. Applications can be submitted as a singular entity\u00a0or as a team with co-applicants who are also eligible academic researchers.<\/p>\n

NSERC ALLIANCE GRANTS<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

OCE VIP Program:<\/h3>\n

The Voucher for Innovation and Productivity (VIP) program helps companies develop, implement and commercialize technical innovations by supporting partnerships between Ontario\u2019s industry and publicly funded post-secondary institutions. VIP projects are intended to generate economic benefit for companies in Ontario (including job creation\/retention, new revenue generation, investment attraction, cost savings, value chain development), in the short-to-medium term (e.g. within three years of project completion).<\/p>\n

This pathway is ideal for agencies or for profit companies incorporated in Ontario for a minimum of two years with capacity to commercialize results of the project.<\/p>\n

OCE VIP PROGRAM<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Research Contract and Testing:<\/h3>\n

Funding contracts agreed upon by Carleton University to create a collaborative workspace between industry and the research team. Typically defined by deliverables and milestones, this pathway mimics the flow of the professional industry.<\/p>\n
