The Mackenzie Building honours Chalmers Jack Mackenzie who was Carleton\u2019s second chancellor, president of the National Research Council, first president of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited and instrumental in the development of science and engineering education in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building contains facilities to support all engineering disciplines. It\u2019s also home to Carleton\u2019s industrial design program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

5 accessible visitor parking spaces in P2. 3 accessible visitor parking spaces on Library Road near Canal Building<\/a>. For information on accessible permit parking, visit Parking Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exterior Entrances<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

5 accessible entrances lead to level 2 (ground-level). The entrance near residences features larger doors and large vestibule. The other 4 accessible entrances are located at links between blocks, closer to the courtyard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interior Entrances<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Two tunnel entrances to level 1 (basement), but only one is accessible. The entrance from tunnel B (green) is accessible (door opener, elevator), but the entrance from tunnel A (grey) leads to stairs. Bridges on levels 3 (ramp and door opener) and level 4 (door opener) link to Architecture Building<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elevators<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

3 elevators. The elevator in the EDC block serves levels 2-4 and features tactile and braille buttons, and an audible announcement system (voice and beeps). The elevator between blocks A and B serves levels 1-4. It features tactile and braille buttons, an audible announcement system (beeps), and a mirror. The smaller elevator in block C serves levels 1-5, and features tactile and braille buttons, and an audible announcement system (beeps). Note: this elevator serves level 1 (tunnel level), but leads to a space without a door opener.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Washrooms<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Accessible stalls in multi-stall washrooms on levels 2-4 (door openers). Accessible universal washrooms on levels 2, 3, and 5 (door openers). Washrooms are located near building links in blocks B, C, and D, and in ECD block.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
