Topics included: cooperation in\u00a0dealing with international conflict; prospects for intensified trade and investment; and\u00a0comparing\u00a0Canadian and\u00a0European responses to challenges\u00a0such as environmental sustainability and climate change, migration\u00a0and integration of immigrants, managing economic crisis, policies for inclusive growth and social inclusion, and issues of democratic legitimacy and governance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/canadaeurope\/wp-content\/uploads\/Conference-agenda-final-for-website.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Conference agenda<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/canadaeurope\/wp-content\/uploads\/CETD-Speaker-bios-final-for-website.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Speaker bios<\/a><\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/canadaeurope\/2016\/lightning-policy-brief-series-canada-and-europe-converging-or-diverging-responses-to-international-and-domestic-challenges\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lightning Policy Brief Series <\/a>&#8212; a suite of policy briefs aiming to stimulate public thought and action &#8212; was produced\u00a0in conjunction with this\u00a0conference.<\/p>\n<p><em>This event received support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and Carleton University&#8217;s Faculty of Public Affairs Research Month.
