Environment and Sustainable Development<\/h3>\n

Environmental protection and sustainable development issues have become important features of the public policy narrative, worldwide. In the case of Canada and the EU, there is significant potential for these actors to expand cooperation and to learn from one another in issues including: climate change and carbon emissions; agricultural sustainability and genetically modified foods; environmental policy coordination in multilevel systems; and energy security and the environment. This thematic research group incorporates multidisciplinary approaches for analyzing the interaction of economic, social, and environmental decision-making. This group pays special attention to the linkages between science and policy; public attitudes and activism; and the coordination of environmental policy in multilevel systems.<\/p>\n

D\u00e9veloppement durable et environnement<\/h3>\n

Les questions de protection environnementale et de d\u00e9veloppement durable sont devenues des traits importants du discours de politique publique \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle de la plan\u00e8te. Dans le cas du Canada et de l\u2019Union Europ\u00e9enne, il y a un important potentiel pour ces acteurs d\u2019accro\u00eetre la coop\u00e9ration et d\u2019apprendre mutuellement sur des th\u00e8mes tels que les changements climatiques, les \u00e9missions de carbone, la durabilit\u00e9 agricole, les aliments modifi\u00e9s g\u00e9n\u00e9tiquement, les politiques de coordination environnementale dans des syst\u00e8mes multiniveaux, et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e9nergique et l\u2019environnement.
