Tanveer Ahmad, DCL candidate (McGill University)<\/p>\n<p>From January 1, 2012, Canadian civil aircraft have been subject to the European Union&#8217;s Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS). Under this agreement, a cap-and-trade principle limits the total amount of certain greenhouse gases that can be emitted by different types of companies, including airline companies.
