It would be interesting to students in architecture and architectural history, geography and history, environmental and urban studies, who are interested in pursuing a graduate degree in heritage conservation, public history or a related field of practice such as archaeology or urban planning. Students are required to complete 4.0 credits in selective courses in the Canadian Studies stream that involve Heritage conservation. The following are the core courses in the minor. Topics may include: decolonizing memory, identity and place; heritage histories, policies, values and stakeholders; emerging issues such as climate change, mass tourism and urban development. Topics may include: settler-colonial space-making; whiteness and space; diasporic space; geographies of gender and sexuality; and different understandings of nature\/culture. Focus on heritage conservation and its connections with environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
