The dissertation examines the exercise of Indigenous law through the blockade. It argues that the blockade as a practice of Indigenous law sparks a circuit of redistribution that mitigates the compulsions of capitalist relations of production, allowing Water Protectors and Land Defenders to sustain their struggle on the frontlines against colonial incursion. John is grateful to Professors Julie Tomiak and Justin Paulson for their indispensable support.
