The Network is pleased to host a research seminar, “Hydrogen policy-making in Germany and the EU” with Lucas Flath<\/a>, Research Associate, Institut f\u00fcr Politikwissenschaft, Technical University Darmstadt (Germany).<\/p>\n

Mr. Flath will analyse approaches to hydrogen policy in Germany and its federal units (L\u00e4nder), as well as at the EU level, taking account of the central actors, lobby networks, political preferences and functional determinants. The topic is of particular interest, given anticipated Canadian-German cooperation in the development and transport of hydrogen as a renewable energy source. Mr. Flath is a team member of a collaborative project housed at the Technical University (TU) Darmstadt called \u201cClean Circles<\/a>\u201d, which is exploring how iron can be used for storing and transporting renewable energy, contributing to a climate-neutral energy policy and \u2018circular economy\u2019.<\/p>\n

Moderating the event will be Professor Stephan Schott<\/a>, with the School of Public Policy and Administration at Carleton University.<\/p>\n

This seminar is part of the Jean Monnet Network on EU-Canada Relations, which is supported by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. This network is housed at Carleton University, with TU Darmstadt as a partner.<\/p>\n

Mr. Flath is a Research Associate at the Technical University Darmstadt in the area of comparative politics and European integration.<\/p>\n

Registration is required to attend the research seminar. This event will be held in person on campus.<\/p>\n
