You can easily embed audio or video into your cuLearn course to share your media files with students. Media can be embedded into any cuLearn activity (ex/ Assignment, Forum) or resource (ex/ Book, File) where the text editor appears.  You can embed videos that have been uploaded to Carleton’s MediaSpace, or you can embed videos from Youtube or other video hosting sites. Embedding media content into your cuLearn course is a great way to increase student engagement and feature important audio/video files on your course page.

How do I upload videos to MediaSpace?

What is a text editor?

You can embed media into your cuLearn course in the following ways:

Please note that you should not add too many videos (4 or 5) in one place as people with slow internet connections will not be able to load that page easily. We recommend placing an Intro/ Welcome video on the cuLearn course main page and putting the rest in pages.

Adding a Page Resource with Embedded Video

A Page allows instructors to create a web page within the course using a text editor.  You can use the Page text editor to embed a video, or multiple videos into a page that students can access from your main course page.

To add a Page with embedded video:

  1. Log in to cuLearn using your MyCarletonOne credentials.
  2. Click on your course link.
  3. Go to the topic/section in which you’d like to add a page.
