Brad Wiebe

Bio Coming to Ottawa from Winnipeg, Brad completed Carleton University’s M.A. in Public History in 2016. Inspired by his work as a Tour Guide on Parliament Hill and by his involvement with the Canadian Museum of History’s new Canadian History Hall, Brad used his time in the Public History program to develop and produce the oral history podcast series “Histories of Parliament Hill.” Since leaving the program Brad has begun work as a Policy Analyst with the Government of Canada.
Research Beyond Canadian history broadly-defined, Brad’s research interest lies in the public’s interactions with the mythic narratives and material spaces of Canadian political institutions, particularly as these interactions relate to history-telling through digital media and interactive tours. Brad has more recently developed an interest in public policy and the potential for historians and historical research to influence policy-making in Canada.
