Laura Madokoro is a historian and associate professor in the Department of History at Carleton University. Her research focuses histories of migration, displacement, and humanitarianism, with a focus on the politics of race and settler colonialism. She is the author of Elusive Refuge: Chinese Migrants in the Cold War<\/i>\u00a0(Harvard, 2016).
