The Project:<\/strong> The Kichi Sibi Historical Research Project (KSHRP), based at the University of Ottawa, is a collaboration between the Algonquin Nation Secretariat and the University of Ottawa (Institute of Indigenous Research and Studies and the Department of History). The KSHRP aims to foster good relations, strong communication, and ethical research that respects and prioritizes Algonquin communities, and facilitates rigorous, collaborative historical research that is appropriately accessible, critical, and balanced.<\/p>\n

Position Description:<\/strong> We are looking for a research assistant to support the work of this project for 160 hours (compensation follows uOttawa guidelines and is dependent on background and experience), with the possibility of extension. Any of the following skills\/background are considered assets but are not requirements: Indigenous studies, historical research and writing, GIS, databases, archives, digitization, event organizing, communications, web site development, social media. Work hours are flexible.<\/p>\n
