An immersive night of live music, projection and light that transforms the historic CDCC domed theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of Capital Music Week, the performance brings together interdisciplinary artist Kwende Kefentse and keyboardist Kim Farris-Manning for a live exchange of sound and visuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farris-Manning moves between Ottawa\u2019s largest pipe organ, piano and harpsichord, while Kefentse layers and loops sound and video in real time. Together, they create a performance that evolves as it happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Above them, CDCC\u2019s 55-foot dome becomes a canvas. Archival imagery and audio-reactive visuals move across the architecture, shifting with the music and filling the space with light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part concert, part visual experience, Pipes & Projections offers a new way to experience one of Ottawa\u2019s most distinctive heritage spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An immersive and mesmerizing experience where old meets new in the now.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Get to know Kwende Kefentse\n <\/h2>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n \n\n

Creative Design | Live Looping | Projection Art<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kwende Kefentse is a creator, researcher, administrator and cultural innovator based in Ottawa. Coming from Caribbean heritage, Kwende’s upbringing as a first-generation Canadian instilled in him a profound appreciation for the rich tapestry of cultural expressions that surrounded him. From the rhythms of his parents’ Bajan roots to the pulsating energy of Caribana, Kwende’s early experiences in the Greater Toronto Area laid the groundwork for a lifelong exploration of the intersections between culture, creativity, and urbanism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Get to Know Kim Farris-Manning\n <\/h2>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n \n\n

Pipe Organ | Piano | Harpsichord<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kim Farris-Manning is a queer arbor-artist, composer-performer, curator, nature educator, and arborist whose artistic and ecological practices deeply inform one another. Currently pursuing graduate studies in Music and Culture and Curation at Carleton University, they are developing an exhibition celebrating forests. Kim is the founder and Artistic Director of Queer Youth Choir, collaborative pianist for Tone Cluster, and a member of YELLOW, Spring Peepers, and the Paramorph Collective. Their work has been presented across Canada, the USA, and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
