{"id":3312,"date":"2022-01-22T14:24:41","date_gmt":"2022-01-22T19:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ces\/eulearning\/?p=3312"},"modified":"2022-01-31T20:57:09","modified_gmt":"2022-02-01T01:57:09","slug":"teachers-workshop-2022-jean-monnet-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ces\/eulearning\/2022\/teachers-workshop-2022-jean-monnet-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Upcoming Teachers Workshop!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We would like to formally invite high school teachers from across the three local school boards: Upper Canada District School Board, Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, and Ottawa Catholic School Board to attend the annual one-day Teachers&#8217; Workshop on <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">February 18, 2022, from 9-11:55 am, via Zoom.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Designed to assist with their classroom programming, our goal is to augment teachers&#8217; knowledge of the significant political, economic, and cultural challenges facing the EU and European countries and Canada-Europe relations.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop presentations will include an overview of the history of the EU and enriched modules on a range of topics which may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Causes and consequences of Brexit<\/li>\n<li>EU trade relations<\/li>\n<li>The recently signed Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Europe and Canada<\/li>\n<li>EU responses to the refugee crisis<\/li>\n<li>EU and the right-wing populist movement<\/li>\n<li>EU and the law<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Once you have registered, you will be provided with an email as well as a draft agenda.
